Meet Bobbi Blakely, AKA BB8
This is BB8
A BB unit astromech droid who operated approximately thirty years after the Battle of Endor. BB-8 became the companion of New Republic Commander and flight leader of Rapier Squadron, Poe Dameron and followed its master when he left the New Republic fleet and joined the Resistance.
After accompanying Dameron on many missions for the Resistance, BB-8 went with his master to Jakku to meet with Lor San Tekka. While there, the First Order attacked. BB-and Dameron tried to flee with a data stick containing a map to Luke Skywalker but before they could escape, stormtroopers disabled their ship's engines. Unable to escape, Dameron gave BB-8 the map and an order to get as far away as possible. After wandering the desert for hours, BB8 is eventually rescued by Rey who fixes BB8's antenna then gives it directions to Niima Outpost. She tries to send it on its way, but BB-8 insists on traveling with her.
Through a series of adventures, the droid meets Finn, Han Solo and Chewbacca, General Leia Organa, and is finally reunited with Poe, who was thought dead in a crash. He flies with the pilot during the Battle of Starkiller Base, and after the battle and R2-D2's re-awakening completes the map and that reveals Luke's location.
This is Bobbi Blakely
Bobbi (born Roberta but literally no one calls her that), is a 24-year-old sophomore college student. The gap year that she took after high school graduation accidentally became three years abroad, traveling Europe and taking on odd jobs. The only child of parents who died when she was 13, Bobbi spent her teen-aged years living with her Italian grandmother and said Italian grandmother's secret girlfriend. (All those years and her parents had thought that "Aunt Joan" was just Grandma's best friend and travel companion. Who knew? Certainly not poor dead grandpa.)
Celeste (AKA Grandma) and Joan encouraged Bobbi to explore any interest she had and, growing up, she had quite a few. To date, she's studied cooking, navigation, flying, skydiving (there were some qualms about that one, but then Celeste and Joan decided to join her; they all yelled "YOLO! when they jumped out of the plane), cartography, Italian (by osmosis), French (see: cooking), eremology (that didn't last very long, she felt like she was thirsty all the time), computer programming, engineering, linguistics, and crochet. (She can still crochet a mean antimacassar!)
During her time in Europe, she met Patrick and she fell hard and fast. Sadly, it didn't last, though she still carries a torch and has developed A Thing for people with dark hair and leather jackets.
Hoping to find some focus in her life, Bobbi's returned to New York and is studying mechanical engineering at Columbia. (But she's also minoring in computer science and ... dance.)
The Girls (ie, Celeste, Joan, and Bobbi) currently own two dogs: Frank and Dean. (Sadly, the third, Sammy, has passed on to that great dogpark in the sky.)
